Our profession exposes us to intense trauma. This session unpacks the presenter’s experience with trauma, PTSD, alcoholism, and recovery. Starting with a traumatic clinical experience the presenter will share how this led down a path of self-destruction before ultimately reinvigorating her career. Dr. Ventura will look at the data on interventions for PTSD in the prehospital environment, delve into why there little data on addiction in medical professionals, and highlight the challenges of professional rehabilitation. Finally, the presenter will share how this experience changed the way she flies
